The addition of DCI’s formal training and assessment process will provide direct and observable evidence of readiness and competency prior to the assumption of bridge duties. Additionally, DCI’s formal training and assessment for junior officers destined for Deck Watch Officer (DWO), Officer of the Deck/Day (OOD) and Conning Officer will ensure an officer’s readiness for bridge competency in risk management and emergency response. Our training exceeds the requirements as outlined in the Watchstation Qualification Standards (WQS), and Personnel Qualification Standard for the United States Navy. Our intense and comprehensive training and assessment will add to or complement the following training programs:

• Basic Division Officer Course (BDOC)
• Officer of the Deck (OOD)
• OOD Phase I
